ACTON, CALIFORNIA

The old west is still alive and well in the Los Angeles County community of Acton.  Located just 15 min from Santa Clarita and Valencia to the south and Palmdale/Lancaster to the north.  It’s a wonderful family oriented town with a rich history and rural lifestyle.  Yet it is conveniently located between two major shopping centers and only 10 min. from the brand new regional Palmdale Hospital.  The Acton Library is scheduled to open in the spring of 2010 and sits just three miles south of our 65 acre parcel on Crown Valley Rd.  Restaurants include some of the best Mexican food around; Japanese cuisine and of course, the historic 49er Saloon and Restaurant that was first opened in the 1800‘s while Acton was a booming mining town.

In 1899, When Henry T. Gage (Acton resident and owner of Acton’s two largest gold mines including the Red Rover Mine) was Governor of the State of California, he actually tried to relocate the state capital from Sacramento to Acton.  Ultimately his efforts were unsuccessful and Acton went on to become one of Los Angeles’ best kept secrets.

Today Acton is home to many celebrities including Tippi Hendren and her exotic animal preserve “Shambala” and Linda Blair of Exorcist fame.  On any given day, it’s not unusual to meet up with friends of both international fame; salt of earth folk still using the Acton countryside for farming and ranching; and average families who moved here for a better lifestyle.

We welcome you to check out Acton for yourself and experience first hand it’s clear blue skies and amazing sunsets!
